Head Investments

Our client is major exploration company in the world and wants to hire a head of investments.

STRATEGY
Develop and implement plans and strategies for the Pension Fund and other Funds under management

Monitor pensions law developments, analyze and advise the Business on their consequences and recommend appropriate action to optimize or protect Funds under management

Develop, review, recommend and implement policies, guidelines, controls and procedures to ensure efficient investment operations and compliance with pensions law.

Contribute to the formulation of general investment strategy and best practice guidelines.

Evaluate counter party and intermediary investment risk. Conduct periodic reviews and upgrade of list of approved counter parties and intermediaries.

EXECUTION/REPORTING

Assess, analyse and prepare investment/divestment proposals for approval by the Investment Committee.

Assess, select and negotiate best contractual terms with fund managers, investment consultants.

Negotiate and monitor the execution of approved Capital Market transactions.

Review and approve Money Market transactions.

Accountabilities
Manage Investment Portfolios within acceptable risk parameters and in accordance with company Policies and relevant statute e.g Pension Reform Act 2004, to optimise liability matching, maximize return on investment and the value of funds under management.

Compliance with policies, Group standards, investment criteria , local laws & PRA regulations.

Contributing to the development and implementation of Pensions strategies

KPIs

Achieve 9% rate of return on Pension Funds in USD terms

People KPI e.g. all staff have PDPs, continuous learning, leadership development, mentoring

Job attributes
A good university degree, with minimum of 10 years post qualification experience, with at least 8 years in the financial sector and 4 years in top/senior management positions.

Financial sector working experience should include responsibilities for Capital Markets, Institutional Banking/Corporate Finance,

Performance Assessment and/or Financial Control Activities.
A qualified stock-broker, preferably also a Chartered Accountant. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification an advantage.

Good knowledge of domestic/international Money/Capital Markets.

Good interpersonal, team working, networking and negotiation skills.
Proactive thinker with strong forecasting skills
